Artists Shedidency at Marina Allotments
Part of Coastal Currents 2026
Festival weekends: 5th-6th & 12th-13th September
After the success of Coastal Currents on the allotment last year, when you could listen to insects crawling through the vegetation or look out to sea through a giant water-butt telescope, Marina Allotments will once again be taking part in the arts festival this September.
Across the two festival weekends, allotmenteers are invited to share something creative on their plot. It could take place in your shed, your greenhouse, your veg bed, your water butt – wherever you choose on your plot. Whether it’s a new piece or something you’ve already made, anything goes.We encourage a rambling mix of artforms: from painting, spoken word, sculpture, sound art, experimental storytelling, performance, installation – even music drifting through the cabbages. You could host a tiny workshop (plant dyes? vegetable sculpture?), offer something interactive or simply display your work and be around to chat.
There’s no formal application process, but we do ask that you let us know what you’re planning ahead of time, so we can make sure everything’s safe, doable, and listed in the map/guide.
Everyone takes part at their own liability (so no fire-breathing please!).
Take part for a day or the whole fortnight. We can’t wait to see what you share.
